Aldo Londi for Bitossi, Large Centerpiece Bowl, Rimini Blue Series, 1970s

A striking and uncommon centerpiece bowl designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi in the 1970s, showcasing the iconic Rimini Blue workmanship in an unusual, wide, sculptural form. Measuring 30.5 cm in diameter, this piece stands out for both its scale and the extraordinary depth of its glaze.

The bowl displays a beautiful interplay of black and rich blue tones and intricate impressed motifs, arranged in concentric decorative bands. Each section reveals the handmade character of Londi’s work: geometric patterns, floral impressions, and rhythmic textures that catch the light and enhance the vibrancy of the glaze. The exterior, finished in a dark, almost volcanic terracotta, creates a refined contrast with the brilliant interior.

This model is notably harder to find compared to the more common vases and small dishes from the series. Its shallow, wide profile makes it a perfect sculptural statement piece for a console, dining table or sideboard.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Minor signs of age consistent with its handmade nature. The underside retains the original numbering and traces of the period label.
