Angelo Brotto for Esperia “Talete” Sculptural Travertine Table Lamp, 1970s

This exceptional table lamp was designed by Angelo Brotto for Esperia and represents a refined synthesis of sculpture, material research, and architectural balance. Featuring a solid travertine base and an elegant vertical brass structure, the lamp is distinguished by a striking sculptural element placed at its center: a hand-worked and fully sculpted brass sphere.

The sphere’s raw, irregular surface recalls the expressive language of Arnaldo Pomodoro, evoking a geological or cosmic presence through its tactile, almost molten texture. This piece comes from an old stock directly from Esperia’s factory and was never sold or installed. It was already wired for the United States, likely intended for a specific commission that was never completed or shipped, making it a particularly rare and compelling find.
