Elegant and highly refined table lamp designed by Archimede Seguso for Seguso Vetri d’Arte in the 1940s, an exquisite example of Art Deco Murano glass artistry.
The lamp features a richly textured blown glass body with extraordinary gold inclusions suspended within the transparent glass, creating a luminous and vibrant surface reminiscent of aventurine and pulegoso techniques. The rounded lower body is embellished with delicate raised motifs and controlled bubbling, giving the piece remarkable depth and a precious jewel-like appearance when illuminated.
A beautifully patinated brass mount crowns the base, adding a sophisticated contrast to the warm golden tones of the Murano glass. The original brass elements show a wonderful aged finish consistent with time and use.
The upper diffuser is composed of an elegant hand-blown clear Murano glass shade with spiral twisted decoration and softly scalloped rim. Its fluid organic silhouette perfectly complements the rounded base and diffuses the light beautifully, enhancing the lamp’s sculptural presence.
The curved transparent glass handle detail further emphasizes the refined craftsmanship and unmistakable Venetian character of the piece.
An exceptionally decorative and elegant Italian table lamp, embodying the poetic and luxurious aesthetic of Seguso Vetri d’Arte during the 1940s.
