Iconic “Taccia” Table Lamp by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos, 1960s

Taccia table lamp designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos. First introduced in 1962, the Taccia is widely considered one of the most iconic lighting designs of the twentieth century, celebrated for its innovative use of indirect and reflected light.

The lamp features a large directional diffuser in transparent mouth-blown glass resting on a gloss white aluminum reflector with a matte white interior. This system allows the light to be reflected and softly diffused, creating a warm and atmospheric illumination while maintaining a strong sculptural presence.

The distinctive ribbed body in matte black anodized aluminum, inspired by classical architectural columns, is paired with a nickel-plated metal base, giving the piece a balanced combination of technical precision and timeless elegance.

This example comes from a 1990s deadstock inventory and remains in excellent, like-new condition. A rare opportunity to acquire a pristine vintage example of one of the most celebrated designs by the Castiglioni brothers.
