Pair of 1970s Rattan Lounge Chairs by Alberto Smania, Reimagined by FORME

A sophisticated blend of vintage Italian craftsmanship and contemporary comfort, this exquisite pair of lounge chairs was originally designed in the 1970s by Alberto Smania for Smania Studio Interni.

The frames, crafted from richly patinated rattan, embody the relaxed elegance of mid-century Italian design. FORME has reinterpreted them for modern living, carefully reupholstering the seats in a luxurious bouclé by Dedar Milano and adding generous, removable cushions in an off-white washable fabric. The result is a harmonious dialogue between original structure and contemporary softness.

From every angle, the chairs display their artisanal details: the warm tone of the rattan, the subtle bindings at each joint, and the graceful curvature of the legs. Without the cushions, the minimalist rattan form stands as an object of sculptural beauty; with them, the chairs invite you to sink into a cocoon of comfort.

Perfect for a sun-drenched veranda, a poolside lounge, or a refined living space, these chairs balance casual charm with elevated design. They are versatile, lightweight yet sturdy, and destined to become a focal point wherever they are placed.
