Pair of CAB 413 Armchairs by Mario Bellini for Cassina in Original Bulgarian Red, 1970s

An elegant pair of CAB 413 armchairs by Mario Bellini for Cassina, designed in the late 1970s and presented here in their highly desirable original Bulgarian Red leather.

This model is among Bellini’s most iconic creations, celebrated for its architectural clarity and innovative construction — the self-supporting saddle leather “skin” zipped over a steel frame was a revolutionary technique at the time and remains a hallmark of Italian design mastery.

The chairs retain their original leather upholstery, showing an authentic and well-preserved vintage patina.

As documented in the photos, there are light signs of wear on the front edges and upper corners, as well as minor surface marks consistent with age and use. The leather, however, remains supple, rich in color, and overall in very good vintage condition. The structure is solid and stable. The rare Bulgarian Red color — warm, deep, and unmistakably mid-century — enhances the sculptural form of the CAB 413 and gives the pair a strong decorative presence.

Beautiful, original, and increasingly difficult to find in this finish.
