An extraordinary pair of sculptural Murano glass candlesticks by Archimede Seguso, dating to the 1950s. Signed on the underside, these pieces represent one of the most sophisticated and technically demanding expressions of Seguso’s post-war production.
Each candlestick is hand-crafted in thick, perfectly transparent crystal glass and carved into a dazzling faceted structure that catches and refracts light in every direction. The bases, intensely sculpted and jewel-like, rise into elongated, irregularly faceted stems that create a dynamic interplay of reflections—an unmistakable hallmark of Seguso’s masterful control over mass, volume and luminosity.
Despite their bold, almost contemporary appearance, these works remain deeply rooted in the Murano tradition of virtuoso craftsmanship. The glass is exceptionally clear, heavy in the hand, and meticulously finished—evidence of the atelier’s highest level of production during this period.
Condition: Exceptional vintage condition. No chips, cracks or restorations. Glass remains bright, clean and with minimal traces of age.
Dimensions: 29 cm (h) × 16 cm (diameter at base)
