Pair of Two-Light V-149/2 Wall Sconces by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for AB Markaryd

Executed in brass with substantial horizontal arms and spherical smoked amber glass shades, these wall lights perfectly express Jakobsson’s refined and atmospheric design language, where material and light are carefully balanced. The proportions are generous and architectural, giving the pieces a strong presence on the wall and a warm, enveloping light output.

The brass surfaces show a rich and authentic patina, with visible signs of age consistent with the period, enhancing the character and originality of the sconces. The glass shades present minor edge chips, only noticeable upon close inspection, which do not affect their functionality, stability, or long-term durability.

Details such as the exposed screws, cylindrical lamp holders, and mounting system reflect the high-quality craftsmanship typical of Swedish production of the era, originally conceived for both residential and representative interiors.

The sconces are completely original. Rewiring is recommended to meet current standards and is available upon request; in this case, the lamp holders will also be replaced.
