Pair of Wingback Armchairs by Paolo Buffa for Framar, Italy, 1950s

A rare and elegant pair of wingback armchairs designed by Paolo Buffa and produced by Framar in the 1950s. Executed in beautifully aged cherrywood, the frame showcases Buffa’s signature blend of sculptural clarity and decorative subtlety — most notably in the finely carved armrests, where the wood’s silhouette flows organically into the upholstered forms.

Fully restored, with cushions partially replaced and reupholstered in a luxurious light blue fabric by Rubelli Venezia — a refined blend of cotton and chenille with a soft velvet effect. The same high-end textile is carefully applied to the armrests, enhancing the tactile experience and continuity of line.
