A striking postmodern centerpiece in the spirit of Ettore Sottsass and the Memphis movement, where geometry, color, and balance converge into a bold sculptural statement.
The composition is built around a wide, shallow dish in glossy pastel pink ceramic, resting on three large spherical supports in deep black glaze. The contrast is immediate and graphic — soft versus solid, light versus dark — creating a dynamic visual tension that defines the object from every angle.
The three black spheres act not only as structural elements but as a rhythmic base, slightly lifting and tilting the dish to give the piece a sense of movement and instability — a hallmark of Memphis design language. Their high-gloss finish reflects light and surroundings, enhancing the sculptural presence of the piece.
The pink dish, with its smooth and continuous surface, appears almost suspended above the base. Its generous diameter and shallow curvature make it both functional and highly decorative — equally suited as a centerpiece or as a purely artistic object.
An object of strong architectural character, playful yet rigorous, embodying the radical aesthetics of Italian design in the 1980s.
In good vintage condition with light signs of use. Two small micro chips on the rim of the dish, as clearly shown in the photos, consistent with age. Overall well preserved.
