An exceptional gilded and platinum ceramic sculpture, part of a numbered limited edition of 1,500 pieces (No. 316/1500), designed by the renowned Italian artist Arnaldo Pomodoro and produced by Ceramiche Franco Pozzi Gallarate S.p.A. in 1975. Created in collaboration with the Marlborough Gallery in Rome and Studio Marconi in Milan, this piece embodies Pomodoro’s distinctive exploration of form and symbolism.
Titled “La Dualità e l’Uno”, the artwork consists of two interlocking ceramic elements—one with a gold glaze, the other platinum—symbolizing the dynamic tension and unity between dual entities. Due to the high cost and avant-garde nature of the piece, it is likely that the full edition of 1,500 was never entirely produced, making this sculpture even more exclusive and desirable.
The ceramic is in excellent condition, free from chips or cracks, with only minor irregularities in the glaze that add to its uniqueness and authenticity.
With its impressive dimensions (30 cm diameter x 17 cm height), this rare collector’s piece is a testament to Arnaldo Pomodoro’s artistic vision, seamlessly blending sculptural form with conceptual depth.
A rare and historically significant work, perfect for collectors of Arnaldo Pomodoro and connoisseurs of Italian 20th-century design.
