A striking and sculptural brass vase produced by Laras in Padua, representative of the refined Italian metalwork of the mid-century period.
The spherical form is articulated by a continuous sequence of horizontal ribs, creating a rhythmic surface that captures and diffuses light across its warm, golden patina. The result is both architectural and tactile, emphasizing the handcrafted quality of the piece.
The underside bears an engraved signature reading “P. Marini Design,” by Paolo Marini, a designer active in connection with Laras Padova production during the 1950s–1970s.
The vase stands as a refined example of Italian modernist metalwork, where volume, proportion, and surface treatment resolve into a single cohesive gesture. Its generous proportions and wide opening allow it to function both as a decorative object and as a sculptural vessel.
