Rare “Rimini Blu” Ceramic Fish by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, Italy, 1970s

A truly exceptional and rare example of Aldo Londi’s work for Bitossi Ceramiche, this sculptural ceramic fish belongs to the iconic “Rimini Blu” collection, designed and produced in Italy during the 1970s.

Handcrafted in glazed ceramic, the piece captures Londi’s distinctive artistic language: whimsical yet refined, modern yet rooted in tradition. Its deep marine blue glaze, enriched with subtle turquoise and teal reflections, evokes the shimmering movement of the sea. The body, rounded and expressive, is animated by incised scale motifs and the artist’s unmistakable sculptural detailing.

This particular piece stands out not only for its rarity—very few were ever produced—but also for its remarkable state of preservation.
