Carlo Nason Model LT328 Italian Table Lamp, Pulegoso Glass, 1970s, Labeled

A striking model LT328 table lamp designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega in the 1970s, composed of four interlocking pulegoso glass elements mounted on their original metal base. This sculptural creation exemplifies Nason’s ability to transform Murano glass into pure architecture, using light as a structural material.

The lamp retains its original manufacturer’s label, a detail increasingly uncommon and highly sought after by collectors.

The four hand-blown glass sections are executed in rich pulegoso—a historic Murano technique in which thousands of microscopic air bubbles are trapped within the glass, producing a delicately frosted surface and an atmospheric, diffused illumination. When lit, the lamp radiates a warm, celestial glow that enhances the geometric rhythm of its layered construction.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the LT328 is its ingenious internal mechanical system:
the metal structure includes circular support rings that hook onto threaded pins, each fitted with small brass washers used to lock one glass element onto the next. This clever engineering solution—entirely manual, modular, and highly effective—demonstrates the technical precision and innovation characteristic of Mazzega’s production during the era.
