In 1953, Osvaldo Borsani, alongside his brother Fulgenzio, embarked on one of their most ambitious projects: founding Tecno, a company that embodied the perfect blend of art and technique, inspired by the Greek concept of “techne.” Tecno was more than just a furniture manufacturer; it was an entrepreneurial vision aimed at reshaping the workplace. At a time when Italy was transitioning into a modern industrial era, Borsani sought to bring the same elegance, precision, and functional rigor of domestic design into office environments.
This coffee table, model T61/B, designed by Borsani in 1955 and produced by Tecno, exemplifies that vision. It features a lacquered metal structure with a distinctive striped, two-tone wooden top, offering a balance of simplicity and sophistication. The clean lines and minimalistic design make it versatile, easily adaptable to a range of interior styles, from mid-century modern to contemporary settings.
